Buckie Thistle Football Club are excited to announce that Graeme “Spider” Stewart, Lewis Mackinnon and Stephen “Mara” Bruce have agreed terms with the club and now undertake the permanent position of Manager, Assistant Manager and First Team Coach respectively.
Club President Garry Farquhar made the following comment about the appointment: “I believe the club has made a great decision moving forward. The aims and ambitions of the guys are very much in line with those of the board as we try to re-organise certain aspects of the club and bring back success”
“Graeme has been working very closely with the U20’s team and has already strengthened the relationship with Buckie Rovers in order to identify and promote upcoming local players. The club are also looking to work with local schools to try and promote the youth development programme to ensure that Buckie has a strong pool of talent progressing through the ranks for many years to come.”
Buckie Thistle’s new Manager Graeme Stewart had the following to say about his new appointment: “I want to stress that this is a big opportunity for me and the other guys that the board have shown a lot of faith in us. We are a young and enthusiastic team and all have strong ties with the club. We have many ideas but we understand that it will take some time to implement them. We are going to encourage an attractive playing style which the fans will appreciate and I hope will bring success on the field.
We are really excited about the future and if we can continue to develop strong relationships with the local community and junior clubs then Buckie Thistle will only benefit from this in the long term.”
