A confident start to the season for Buckie Thistle saw them ease to a 4-0 win over Clach.
With four new signings in their starting eleven – Sam Urquhart, Hamish Munro, Andrew Skinner and John McLeod – the Jags dominated the first half.
Player-coach Andy Low opened the scoring after 15 minutes when he curled the ball home from outside the box after good build up play by Stuart Taylor.
Taylor was again the provider on 33 minutes when Ceiran McLean’s cross sneaked inside the far post.
McLeod fired in number three after 40 minutes, firing home a crisp shot from close range. The striker had earlier hit the post with a neat effort.
Clach were briefly seen as an attacking force early in the second half but the closest they came to scoring was when McLean’s clearance hit his own crossbar and rebounded to safety.
The second half a lowy key affair with Buckie very comfortable and McLeod came close to a second goal when he lobbed an effort over the bar.
He was unlucky after 63 minutes when he rounded goalkeeper John Campbell and saw the ball knocked on to the post by defender Stuart Scott-Woodhouse.
Buckie added a fourth goal in the 87th minute when sub Shaun Carrol’s superb 50 yard diagonal pass was crossed into the box by Jay Cheyne and McLeod bulleted home a header.
