A tough 90 minutes for the Jags saw them concede eight goals in a Highland League game for the first time since 1982.
After a bright start in which they more than matched the champions in the first 20 minutes, Buckie self-destructed with some poor defending and also failed to take the chances that came their way.
They struggled to love with the pace and power of Brora in the closing 25 minutes of the first half as goals Zander Sutherland (22 pen, 31) and Steven Mackay (27,40) and Paul Brindle (42) put the game to bed by half-time.
It got worse just four minutes into the second half as ex-Jag Sutherland completed his hat-trick.
Buckie enjoyed a good spell for the next 20 minutes or so and that saw Paul Napier curl home a terrific goal for the home side on 58 minutes.
Mackay completed his hat-trick with 12 minutes remaining when he too easily headed home from a Gavin Morrison free kick.
Kevin Fraser was denied by a super Joe Malin save, diving low to his left to scoop away a downward header – as Buckie kept plugging away.
The rout was completed eight minutes from the end when Mackay added number eight with a close range tap in.
With both Andy Burr (injured) and Greg Sim (work) both unavailable, goalkeeping coach Darren Strong started for the first time in a long time and, despite the scoreline, he had a decent game and made a number of good saves throughout the 90 minutes.
