BUCKIE Thistle served up a dreadful performance to go into Christmas on a downer.
Assistant manager Lewis Mackinnon apologised to the fans after the game.
The only bright note in an otherwise poor afternoon at Victoria Park was a goal-of-the-season contender from Paul Napier, which levelled matters at 1-1 in the first half.
Robbie Duncanson had caught Buckie napping with an opener after just 40 seconds and the same player curled a terrific second goal 10 minutes before half-time to put Nairn ahead for the second time.
It took the visitors just one minute and 40 seconds of the second half to get a third when Tony Wallace headed powerfully beyond Greig Sim.
It was one-way traffic from that point on and Iain Macrae’s own goal made it 4-1 after just 56 minutes.
Wallace added number five after 64 minutes following a poor kick out by Sim and Duncanson completed his hat-trick in the 72nd minute with a superb effort.
Nairn had chances to increase the lead, while at the other end Buckie scarcely troubled Calum Antell in the Nairn goal.
